Site Supervisor

If you love spending loads of time in the great outdoors, working hard and seeing some incredible venues across Yorkshire then this is for you. We’re looking for someone who is confident, organised and professional who can lead a team alone and deal with any issues that arise along the way. No experience of rigging tents and yurts is necessary but if you’ve got management experience in the events industry then that would be an advantage.

 

What you’ll be expected to do:

- Be the point of contact on site for customer queries and complaints

- Coordinate and motivate a team of staff on site and delegate tasks

- Solve any issues on site professionally and efficiently

- Sign off jobs as complete and to the high standards we are known for

- Be able to manually handle heavy and large equipment

- Drive our long wheelbase van to events across Yorkshire

- Help to prepare for upcoming events including ensuring all equipment is in good condition and ready to go

- Assist with setting up yurts and bell tents for customer events

- Prepare relevant paperwork related to bookings

- Load and unload the van at our storage unit

- Maintain communication with the Directors when on site

- Assist with training of new team members

- Provide feedback to team members

- Be responsible for the Health and Safety of the team on site

 

What we expect you to have:

- Your own transport and be willing to travel to jobs when needed (usually you will meet at our storage unit at Swillington, Leeds and travel in the van)

- Some experience of managing staff

- Previous experience of problem solving and managing time frames

- Awareness of Health and Safety and its importance

- A love of being outdoors in all weathers

- A good level of physical fitness and able to lift heavy equipment

- Good attention to detail and the drive to do a good job

- Experience of dealing with customers and complaint handling

- Flexibility, ability to work weekends and be available to work throughout the whole season

- Eligibility to work in the UK and a form of ID (driving licence or passport)

 

What is not mandatory but is preferred:

- First aid training

- Experience of setting up tents, yurts, tipis or marquees

 

The season runs from April 2022 to September 2022

 

Hours per week will vary throughout the summer season but you will know working hours in advance. Working days are usually Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays.

Yurt/Bell Tent Rigger

If you like working outside, being active and providing a great service for customers, then this is for you. We work at some amazing venues across Yorkshire and get to meet great customers and suppliers.

Work is on a casual basis but there are plenty of shifts available with the possibility of more as bookings come through. Working days are usually Fridays and Sundays but other days may be needed. Length of shift can vary but is usually 6 to 10 hours. Lots of things can impact how long a job will take including traffic, weather and ground conditions so we do not have set finish times: flexibility is important.

What you’ll be expected to do:

  • Load and unload equipment into the van on site and at our storage unit

  • Be able to manually handle heavy and large equipment

  • Set up bell tents and yurts as part of a team on site

  • Decorate and dress bell tents and yurts ready for our customer’s event

  • Be professional and friendly

  • Stripping beds and cleaning bell tents

  • Take responsibility for the quality of the tents you set up

  • Take care of the equipment to maintain high standards

  • Adhere to Health and Safety guidance

What we expect you to have:

  • Enthusiasm!

  • Good time keeping skills and able to work within given time frames

  • Problem solving skills and the ability to think on your feet

  • A good level of physical fitness and enjoy working outside in all weathers

  • Be punctual and reliable

  • Able to meet customers expectations in a polite and friendly manner

  • Strong communication skills

  • Be able to learn quickly

  • Able to travel to our storage unit in Swillington at the start of your shift

  • Good attention to detail and the drive to do a good job

  • Flexibility and be available to work weekends

  • Eligibility to work in the UK and a form of ID (driving licence or passport)

No previous experience is necessary as full training will be provided. It’s more important you have the right attitude and desire to do a great job.

The main season runs from April to September.
