What's the difference between a yurt and a bell tent?

Want to host a party, wedding or corporate event outdoors and make it an event to remember? Provide shelter if it rains? Create your own glamping village? If you're planning an event and you're not sure which type of outdoor structure is most suitable for you and your guests, then we're here to help.

There are a few things to consider when choosing your structure:

Number of Guests - This is important as each structure has a maximum capacity for guests either seated, standing or sleeping.

Season - Some structures can withstand rain or wind better than others.

Type of Event - Is it going to be more relaxed, a sit down meal, presentations or partying all night?

Space Available - Where are you hosting your event? If it's in a garden, how big is it and can it be accessed easily? Is your space flat or are there slopes?

Budget - Each type of structure has a different cost due to time spent putting it up, the storage costs, insurance costs so it's worth having an idea of budget in mind.

Duration - With some structures the set-up time can be a full day, therefore it's not feasible for them to be taken down again on the same day. We have minimum hire periods for this reason.

Now you've considered the above, let us tell you some more about our yurts and bell tents...

Our Yurts

Originating in Mongolia as homes for the nomadic tribes, these beautiful structures are designed to be moved around and withstand some wild weather.

The round shape is a lovely welcoming space and the roof poles create an amazing feature ceiling. Not to mention the clear centre crown which allows sunlight to flood into the yurt, giving everything a golden glow. At night you can still see the stars from inside.

From a practical point of view, there is a lot of headspace in the yurts so you can walk around without crouching and if you're event is bigger you can pod two yurts together to create a break out space or bar area.

If you're looking for something smaller or a bit more casual, then our bell tents are ideal.

Our Bell Tents

Bell tents are synonymous with glamping and that's because they definitely provide campers with some luxury. They're really spacious with a peaked ceiling and the central pole allows you to hang lighting from the middle to cast a glow. In warm weather you can even roll up the bottom so you keep the shade but have a lovely breeze coming through. Bell tents are perfect for hosting guests at your event. We can put them up wherever your event is, a bit like a pop-up hotel.

We have two sizes of bell tent - 5m and 4m. Our 4m package sleeps 2 but you can add an extra single if needed. Our 5m package sleeps 4 but could fit an extra 2 people to sleep 6. We make our tents comfortable with rugs, fairy lights, bed side tables, cosy bedding and lanterns. Our bells are made from high quality canvas and keep you dry in rainy weather. All our packages are a 2 night minimum which means your guests get to stay the night before your event and the night of. It makes for some great nights chatting round the fire pit and catch-ups over a camp breakfast the morning after.
